Even the roughest skin stands no chance anymore!

If the skin suffers from a disrupted skin barrier or is exposed to extremely dry environmental influences for a long period, this can lead to dryness, feelings of tightness, or rough to cracked skin. Frequent washing or disinfecting with alcohol or other irritating biocides also negatively impacts the condition of the skin and the integrity of the skin barrier. Consequently, this leads to an increased transepidermal water loss (TEWL), rough, cracked, reddened skin, and increased flaking. Here, it is important to strengthen the skin barrier and supply moisture-binding active ingredients that keep the skin's own water where it belongs - so that the skin can recover.

Xpertmoist® contains an innovative combination of specific active ingredients that have a strong moisturizing and regenerating effect and forms a special film under which the skin can recover quickly:

• Skin's own amino acids: The water in our skin is bound to certain salts, acids, polysaccharides, and amino acids. These substances are also known as the "natural moisturizing factor (NMF)". Xpertmoist® contains the skin's own amino acids alanine, serine, and proline. Serine is the most abundant amino acid in our NMF—incidentally, silk, which is also known for its skin-caring properties, consists largely of serine. The amino acids in Xpermoist® are of synthetic origin and therefore vegan.
  
• Glycoprotein film: The bacterial strain "Pseudoalteromonas antarctica" is of marine origin and consists of bacteria that have managed to survive in the icy saltwater of Antarctica by protecting themselves with a special glycoprotein shield. Glycoproteins are long-chain compounds made of proteins and polysaccharides (somewhat comparable to hyaluronic acid). By using this strain, it is possible to obtain this interesting substance through fermentation and make it available for cosmetics. The skin also benefits from a protective microfilm that strengthens the skin barrier, protects against dehydration, and also offers protection against harsh external climatic conditions. At the same time, it has a regenerating effect, supports the healing of minor cracks, and reduces wrinkles.
  
• Glycerin: This proven humectant is already contained in Xpertmoist® and ensures long-lasting hydration of the skin and effectively prevents moisture loss. Nevertheless, you can add additional humectants to your formulation such as glycerin, propanediol, or pentylene glycol.
  

This novel concept of skin hydration is available in a gel-like product base—dissolved in water and thickened with xanthan—which also supports film formation and retains moisture. At the same time, this original active ingredient improves skin feel and leaves the skin delicately cared for and very soft. The film-forming properties give the skin a pleasant smoothness.

Xpertmoist® molecular film is excellently suited for care products for dry to very dry skin as well as in anti-aging products. Whether in basic care products such as hand and foot creams, body lotions, or special facial products—Xpertmoist® exerts its softening effect everywhere and ensures a firmer, healthier skin texture.

Xpertmoist® is also the active ingredient of choice in extraordinary products, e.g., products for highly barrier-disrupted, irritated, or flaky skin as well as for rough patches of skin (elbows, shins, etc.).
