"Aquashield" hand cream

An enveloping hand cream that simultaneously provides deep-acting moisture and protects the skin from environmental influences. 

EmuLite and Sheerbond ensure simple and reliable preparation while effectively protecting the skin. Hydrolyzed sunflower wax provides an enveloping, protective effect and guards against moisture loss. Lipoblend Cushion and Lipoblend Hydrosoft effectively and lastingly bind water to the skin. Hydrachrysum and Xpertmoist sustainably improve the skin’s own moisture supply.

Raw materials in percent 

Instructions

Weigh out phase A and stir until all ingredients are dissolved. 

Homogenize briefly to dissolve the gel-like active ingredients (avoid foaming!).

Check the pH value and adjust to approx. 5 - 5.2 using citric acid/arginine.

Weigh out phase B1 and heat to approx. 80 degrees until the Flexibond has melted.

Allow to cool to below 50 degrees.

Add B2 to B1 and stir in.

Add phase A in small steps (especially at the beginning) to phase B and homogenize thoroughly each time.

TIP

Adjusting the pH value:

The pH value of a solution can be lowered with citric acid and raised with arginine, for example. Using both substances in combination additionally stabilizes the pH value over a longer period of time. This is important because the pH value otherwise tends to change on its own. However, a stable pH value is particularly important to ensure the optimal effectiveness of certain preservatives (e.g., Preblend Aqua or Preblend Aqua S). Read more on this topic in our blog post. 

Humectants in emulsions:

In this formulation, butylene glycol acts as a humectant and prevents the skin from drying out. At the same time, it has a mild antibacterial effect, which supports the effectiveness of Preblend Aqua or Preblend Aqua S. A similar effect could also be achieved with propanediol or propylene glycol. Glycerin would also be suitable as a humectant, but it leaves a slightly sticky skin feel and does not contribute to the improved shelf life of the product. Read more on this topic in our blog post.
