Olive oil is known for its rich, nourishing properties, high stability, and good penetration capacity. It naturally contains a high proportion of oleic acid, which is responsible for these properties.
Lipoblend Cushion consists of pure tri- and di-esters of oleic acid and is derived from olive press residues that would otherwise no longer be used for food. This allows for an interesting lipid component for cosmetics to be upcycled, which feels surprisingly different from native olive oil.
It is a very slow-spreading oil with a rich, nourishing consistency that forms an incredibly soft film on the skin, enveloping and protecting it like a velvet cushion. It is therefore perfectly suited for dry and very dry skin, as well as for mature skin and particularly rich textures.
Due to its high content of di-esters, Lipoblend Cushion acts as a co-emulsifier. It can absorb water like a W/O emulsifier and also spontaneously creates emulsions. For this reason, it has a supportive and stabilizing effect in creams, although it should not be used in too high a concentration in O/W emulsions in relation to the main emulsifier to avoid affecting it too strongly. In these emulsions, however, it significantly reduces whitening at concentrations as low as 1–2%, enriching every formulation. Thanks to its water-binding properties, it provides long-lasting moisture in emulsions and improves the skincare benefits for the skin.
Oils with a high oleic acid content have a penetration-enhancing effect and are absorbed slowly but deeply into the skin. In doing so, they can carry active ingredients and moisture into the skin, further improving the care effect. The lipid itself also acts as an effective emollient, ensuring the skin remains very soft and supple while reducing feelings of tightness. Even at lower usage concentrations, skincare products feel significantly richer and, after a few minutes, form a noticeably enveloping film on the skin.
In addition, Lipoblend Cushion provides a satin-matte glow to the skin. Although it may initially appear somewhat greasy, it penetrates slowly and leaves behind a velvety film that makes the skin radiate and leaves it wonderfully supple.
