The most innovative form of azelaic acid!

Azelaic acid is a well-known dicarboxylic acid valued in skincare for its sebum-regulating, anti-inflammatory, and skin-brightening properties.
However, pure azelaic acid has several disadvantages: low water solubility, instability, pH dependence, and potential skin irritation.

HydroAzelain overcomes these problems through a special esterification of azelaic acid with polyglycerin-6. In this compound, it is

• completely water-soluble,
• easy to incorporate,
• pH-stable
• and skin-friendly.

Innovative Effect

On the skin, azelaic acid is slowly released and delivered gradually over a longer period. As a result, the skin is never exposed to excessively high concentrations, which keeps both the acid activity and the associated potential for irritation low. The formulation is significantly less irritating while remaining just as effective – ideal for sensitive skin. Additionally, the contained polyglycerin acts as a humectant, providing an intense hydrating effect and protecting the skin from dehydration.

Azelaic acid in skincare:

HydroAzelain is more than just a water-soluble form of azelaic acid. Due to its special processing, it is not only highly tolerable but also hydrating, making it suitable for a variety of cosmetic products such as serums, creams, masks, and scalp tonics.

Recommended concentration and processing

• 2 - 5% for daily skincare
  
• 20 - 50% for special products (e.g., packs and masks)
• water-soluble

TIP: HydroAzelain is very viscous. As long as it is cold, it is difficult to remove, dose, and dissolve. However, even slight warming solves all these problems. Simply place the container in warm water briefly or (for a slightly longer time) in a warm place before you intend to work with it.
