The active ingredient for every occasion!

Oats are the domestic grain with the highest protein content. In addition, oat kernels contain interesting polysaccharides such as beta-glucan, which is prized for its restorative skin care properties.

Hydravena consists of hydrolyzed oat kernels with all their valuable qualities in a bioavailable form. The protein is present in its much smaller form—as peptides—and the polysaccharides in the form of smaller oligosaccharides. These low-molecular properties enable Hydravena to penetrate deeper layers of the skin and hair to lock in moisture.

Oat protein consists of a multitude of amino acids found in our skin and hair. Oats contain glutamic acid in particular (25%), but also others such as proline, serine, arginine, leucine, and glycine. Due to the similarity to our body's own structures, protein-based active ingredients have a high affinity for skin and hair and adhere well, even in rinse-off products. Hydravena is therefore the ideal active ingredient for cleansing products such as shower gels, wash gels, and shampoos. It reduces the drying effect and irritation potential of surfactants and has a lasting moisturizing effect. Feelings of tightness are thus effectively counteracted during the washing process.

In skincare, hydrolyzed proteins—especially oat protein—are considered soothing. Due to the additional sugar compounds it contains, Hydravena is even more effective than isolated oat protein. Since irritation is often accompanied by increased moisture loss and a reduced moisture-retention capacity of the skin, Hydravena is the ideal active ingredient for caring for sensitive and irritated skin and scalp. It ensures a very soft skin feel, has a slightly plumping effect, and increases the suppleness and elasticity of the skin.

In hair care, proteins are generally considered to be structure-strengthening and repairing, as the tiny peptides can attach themselves to and penetrate the cuticle to compensate for damage. Furthermore, more moisture is bound in the hair, thereby increasing elasticity and tensile strength. Since it has little weighting effect, it is also excellently suited for fine hair. Of course, it also nourishes the scalp at the same time, thus ensuring a healthier balance and counteracting dry dandruff. In leave-in and styling products, the proteins provide a light and flexible hold. For this, higher usage concentrations of 2% or more should be used. At high concentrations of up to 5%, Hydravena also creates a "wet look" and can also be used to tame flyaways.

Hydravena is an extremely versatile active ingredient. It is water-soluble, easy to process, can be incorporated into emulsions, toners, and cleansing products, is suitable for all skin and hair types, and brings many different benefits.
