CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the two main components of cannabis flowers. While THC is better known as an intoxicating ingredient that requires a prescription, CBD is non-intoxicating, but rather calming and relaxing. It has been enjoying growing popularity for several years, both internally and in skincare. But what exactly can it do and how does it work?
CBD Balance is the first active ingredient that uses CBD together with natural hemp oil (synergistic effect) and encapsulates it using a unique technology to naturally bring oily and blemished skin back into balance. By means of a unique carrier system - nano-fine wax capsules - the active ingredients can better penetrate the skin barrier and are only released inside the skin - for maximum bioavailability at a low usage concentration.
When used regularly, CBD Balance reduces sebum production and thus counteracts the development of skin blemishes. The following signs of oily and blemished skin have been proven in active ingredient studies:
- Reduction of sebum production
- Minimization of the size and number of sebaceous glands
- Reduction of acne bacteria (Cutibacterium acnes)
- Anti-inflammatory effect
- Reduction of skin redness

The ultra-small active ingredient capsules of CBD Balance are present as a finely dispersed, milky emulsion. It can also be incorporated into aqueous products, such as serums and gels, but it must be stabilized by gelling agents, as it would float to the top in completely liquid products.
CBD Balance is also an interesting active ingredient for the scalp, but it must be used in leave-on products and remain on the skin to unfold its optimal effect - e.g., in a scalp serum. There, it works similarly to how it does on the face. It reduces sebum production and has a calming and anti-inflammatory effect. This promotes balance, supports a healthy scalp, and visibly reduces flaking as well as itching.
CBD Balance is a highly effective, natural next-generation active ingredient. It is easy to incorporate, but should not be heated above 40 degrees Celsius because the wax capsules would lose their effect. Brief homogenization is possible, but thorough stirring into the end product is generally sufficient.
