Characteristics

Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is an anionic surfactant based on plant-based fatty acids and the amino acid glutamic acid. It forms a very beautiful, creamy foam, cleanses well, and is mild on the skin. It leaves a pleasantly nourished feeling on the skin and in the hair.

Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is pure (anhydrous) and available in fine powder form. This makes it particularly suitable for dry products such as shampoo bars, shower bars, or washing powders. It can also be used in liquid products. In this case, it is best pre-dissolved in (hot) water before processing.

Since this surfactant has a particularly high purity factor, it is extremely well-tolerated and even hypoallergenic. Combined with other surfactants, such as Sodium Coco-Sulfate, it improves the foam and conditioning properties as well as the skin compatibility of the final product. It is generally suitable for all skin and hair types, but should not be used in high doses for products for fine hair and should be combined with other surfactants (sulfates) to increase the cleansing effect. It is also perfectly suited for use in facial products due to its mildness and sensory properties.

Usage concentration and processing

10 - 70 % in cleansing bars and powders

2 - 12 % in liquid surfactant products (shampoos, shower gels, etc.)

Pre-dissolve in water or simply mix thoroughly with other raw materials in dry products
