Characteristics

No one can resist the seductively sweet scent of oranges.

It is a universally popular fragrance that has a mood-lifting effect and is derived directly from pressed orange peels. In cosmetics, it is excellently suited for scenting surfactant products (e.g., shampoos and shower gels) because, like all citrus oils, it does not negatively affect the consistency or clarity of the products. However, due to its intense orange color, the end product may take on a slightly yellow tint. In leave-on products (creams, etc.), it should be dosed sparingly (<0.5%) as citrus oils can tend to cause skin irritation.

Another interesting area of application for orange oil is in the household. Orange oil consists almost exclusively of limonene (approx. 95%). This is an excellent solvent and is suitable for cleaning grease and adhesive residues (e.g., labels).
