On the ocean floor exists a diverse ecosystem composed of various microorganisms – phytoplankton. The symbiotic interplay of this ecosystem can be considered in its entirety as a superorganism (holobiont). These microorganisms develop bioactive molecules to withstand the harsh conditions of nutrient-poor waters and UV radiation.
OcuLift is based on an extract obtained from a marine holobiont and cultivated under controlled conditions. It is a lysate (cell components/cell content) of a specific microalga (nanoplankton) that exists in a special encapsulated form to increase bioavailability.
This lysate contains a multitude of skin-care ingredients such as proteins, polyphenols, polysaccharides, and other nutrients, and exhibits an interesting spectrum of activity. It combats the four main problems that occur in the eye area and cause a tired appearance:
- drooping eyelids
- expression lines (crow's feet)
- eye bags
- dark circles
OcuLift strengthens and firms the skin structure by having a positive effect on cell formation and cell adhesion. It significantly boosts the production of collagen I and also the formation of elastin. This results in a skin-tightening and lifting effect and ensures that drooping eyelids are slightly lifted, which creates a more open look. At the same time, expression lines are combated and skin firmness is increased.
Furthermore, OcuLift reduces dark circles under the eyes. These are often caused by poor microcirculation, which slows down the drainage of blood and fluids, leading to swelling and discoloration. In addition, low collagen production contributes to the skin structure becoming weaker, making the thin skin under the eyes appear more translucent. Accumulations of blood pigments and weakened blood vessels further intensify dark circles and impair the appearance of the eye area.
A common active ingredient against these problems is often synthetic vitamin K1. OcuLift represents a natural alternative here; it was even tested against vitamin K1 and achieved comparable results.
It provides both short-term and long-term results and can be used in lifting products, eye care products, as well as in anti-aging products. It also possesses antioxidant potential and can therefore be used in protective day care products as well as in repair and night creams.
