Behenyl alcohol generates significant viscosity even at very low usage concentrations, provides high heat stability, and creates \"stiffer\" emulsions than cetyl or cetearyl alcohol. This results in very white, high-gloss emulsions with an elegant appearance that are nonetheless easy to apply. Unlike waxes and wax esters, fatty alcohols have a rather dry and non-greasy effect on the skin, which is why they are also excellently suited for hair conditioners. Due to its high melting point and the associated hardness, behenyl alcohol provides a noticeably protected skin and hair feel, which, however, feels less rich and \"drier\" than, for example, with \u003ca title=\"cetyl alcohol\" href=\"https:\/\/innometics.at\/products\/cetylalkohol\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ecetyl alcohol\u003c\/a\u003e.
